Glenfiddich have released the third whisky in there popular travel retail exclusive "Age of Discovery' whisky range; the Glenfiddich "Age of Discovery' Red Wine Cask Finish. It is a very unique expression of Glenfiddich, it marks the first time ever in Glenfiddich's history that a whisky has been finished in red wine casks.
Like the first two bottlings in the series, the Glenfiddich Madeira Cask Finish and Bourbon Cask Reserve it has been aged for at least 19 years but this time it has been finished in casks which previously housed the full bodied red wines produced in South America. Bottled at 40%, it will be available exclusively in Global Travel Retail from January 2013.
More info and a tasting note here:

William, this would definitely be one I would like. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Murray, it is certainly one to watch out for when passing through an airport. Should be an interesting one. Wine cask finishes can be hit or miss but i would be pretty sure the people at Glenfiddich have created a hit and as they are good at what they do and they do have a quality whisky to work with. Not sure of the price they didnt send me that info but i would assume it will be the same as the first 2 bottlings in the range which were both very good whiskies, i particularly liked the Age of Discovery Bourbon Cask Reserve released last year. The first 2 bottlings are still available in airports for around £80 which is around $127 Canadian, i assume this 3rd bottle will be around the same price. _________________ There's no bad whisky.
