Here is a new one to watch for next time you are passing throught the airport.

Glenfarclas have launched an 18 year old expression which will be available exclusively in travel retail.

As we have come to expect from Glenfarclas the new 18 year old whisky is heavily sherried, and bottled at natural colour and a strength of 43% ABV. Presented in a striking red and copper foil tube, it will only be available in 1 litre bottles and will be priced at £75.

According to what what Glenfarclas has told me, on the nose this whisky has fresh sweet aromas of honeycomb and citrus notes. This is followed on the taste with flavours of creamy fudge, almonds and dried fruits. The 18 year old has a long lasting, smooth and satisfying finish, and is sure to please single malt lovers.

William, this one sounds impressive and not a bad price for a litre.
Very Happy

It just launched on the cruise ships in Scandanavia but I questioned Glenfarc via twitter and it will be in global travel retail "soon"

Annoyingly, last time i was through the airport World of Whiskies seemed to have dropped the Glenfarclas 12 year old 1 litre bottle which i believe was originally a Glenfarclas travel retail bottling so i found it odd they didnt have it anymore. Pity as the 12 year old is great expression of Glenfarclas.

Good to see the new Glenfarclas 18 is a 1 litre bottle as i have noticed quite a few of the whiskies available in travel retail are now 70cl

Fair price for what should be a great whisky. Nevertheless I would expect that price will be positioned between their regular editions of 15 yo (40 GBP) and 21 yo (60 GBP). But we have 1 liter bottle here:

It is, more or less. That 21 year-old at £60 for a 70cl bottle works out at around £85 per litre.
