Selling Advise

Dear Forum members, My first post in the whisky forum, sorry to say I'm not fan
but internet searches brought me here for advise.

My farther has a collection around 100 single malts, some I guess are pretty ordinary, some I think not so. Anyway he (I think mum tbh) has decided that it;s time to get rid.

So I've come looking for advise how best to sell them, I hope you can help.

I've seen that there are some problems with ebay, so maybe thats not the best I've also found a online whiskey auction house, would love to hear any feedback.

Are there any Whiskey auction events?

Anyway would love to hear your thoughts and comments.

Where are you based? You may find there is an auction house somewhere near you who will be able to help out with all this.

I also think it depends on which bottles are in the collection. As you said some may be pretty ordinary and some not so. Some research in the internet should give you an idea of which bottles may be worth something and which not so, but be wary that retail prices dont reflect the price you can expect to fetch via private sale.

Somewhere like The Whisky Exchange may be able to offer money for some of your bottles, so it may be worth dropping them an email.

Also some members of this very forum may or may not be interested, there is a selling part to this forum. If you can get a list of all the bottles and post it up here, I'm sure many on here will gladly offer their opinion on which bottles are likely to be desired and which ones not.
