| Over the last few years the increase in the numbers of women at whisky events has become very noticeable. |

Blackadder, perhaps almost half of the members of my single malt scotch club in Niagara, Ontario, I would hazard a guess to say are women, some younger adults; and many guests brought to the events are women. Of course the older men in kilts are well-represented too.

 | Many of the women we see in the UK at whisky events are younger women. Thankfully my other half has never found a liking for malt whisky or it could be a very expensive hobby She would sometimes accompany me to tastings and she has tried some of the best whiskies available but she simply doesnt have a taste for it. _________________ There's no bad whisky. My better half hates whisky too.
Though I must say one of the things which struck me when I joined the SMWS was the number of younger people, both male and female who attend the venues in Edinburgh I honestly thought it would be older guys beards pipes etc, but not at all.
Nothing wrong with it. |

My wife can take a whisky with a mixer such as ginger ale or a whisky liqueur, she loves the Drambuie 15 but she has never got the taste for single malts, thank goodness
I wouldnt mind if she did have a taste for single malt whisky, i would then have have someone to discuss my favorite pastime with.
Murray you dont say if your good wife joins you with your love for Scotlands best export. |
