My taste notes for Highland Park 18 today

Here are my taste notes from today for Highland Park 18 based on the state of my "buds":

Neat:

Nose: Brilliant Turkish delight, cherry blossoms, sweet smoke, dark chocolate infused with cherry cream, creme brulee, charred maize, toasted cereal with honey, peat n' molasses, vanilla bean ice cream and deep sherry notes.

Palate: Creme brulee, creamy, spiced honey, bonfire smoke, wave of salt water, backdrop of sweet peat wrapped in dark sherry haze and concentrated dark fruit.

Finish: Long, salted honey, smooth and rich, creamy and warming, spiced sherry hues and oak shavings.

The HP18 is a reknown dram with a solid reputation but is one that I found takes repeated experience with to really solve the taste and finish profiles. The nose is a great open book which pleases from first contact. Experience with this dram over time really takes one through a matured appreciation of palate and finish.
