Looks like it will be very similar to the Bowmore 21 year old 1988 port wood matured.
£380 for a 23 year old is steep, i would hope it is very good for that price. |

The 21 port wood(travel retail only) was £150 RRP.

Sigh. | I had a couple of bottles of the Bowmore 21 port wood travel retail but £380 is a bit much for a 23 year old IMO, i assume it isnt a single cask, cask strength bottling. |

| Even if it is a single cask bottling the price tag £380 isnt justified |

| If you shop around you would find some indie biottlings of 23 year old Port Ellen for £380 and that is shop prices they would be even cheaper at auction. |

Latest info
Once opened it reveals a certificate handwritten by the Bowmore Distillery manager Eddie MacAffer. Less than 12,000 bottles have been released worldwide with 120 cases available in the UK priced at £380 RRP, 50.8% ABV
That is just a crazy price tag for 12,000 bottles |

I have a sample on the way, i will let you know what i think when i arrive meanwhile here is Bowmores official tasting note for the Bowmore 23 Years Old - Port Cask Matured:
Colour - Deep mahogany with a rich ruby blush.
Nose - Rich, smoky and very complex. Plum skins, black cherries and dark chocolate are interwoven with wood smoke and sea-salt, seductive sandalwood and walnuts thrown on a roaring fire.
Taste - A swathe of rich smoky velvet brings luscious layered autumn fruits, tingly winter spices, blood orange and sensual winter black truffles.
Finish - Long and rich with smoke infused blood orange, truffle and walnut oil. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |
