Glenmorangie The Original

Here are my taste notes for this one neat that I took today. It's nice to revisit the same drams from time to time and compare taste notes with one's ever changing taste buds, at least mine, that is.

Nose: Parfumy, fruity, spicy vanilla, light furniture polish, mild cedar chips, honey, lambs wool scarf, rind covering a cantaloup and lichee nuts in sweet syrup and Turkish delight..

Palate: Fruity, blast of syrup and vanilla icing, creamy n' spice and flash of mint chiclets ( this was an old time candied chewing gum with a long lasting cool mint flavor).

Finish: Creamy, smooth, cleansing, mild mint-spice combo. The finish coasts for a while, gliding along, tailing off in a "toffee-esque" flurry. Not quite so uncomplicated as it is presented to be in many reviews by pundits on the web.

I agree Quaich1quite a complex whisky. One of the most consistent quality drams out their for your money. The Glenmorangie 10 was the first full bottle of single malt whisky i ever bought myself, more than a few years ago now.
