|
|
| Hello from Canada. I have recently purchased a mechanical Scottish dressed man in a sitting position from an antique store. the people there said it was bought by a man at a Gatwick airport store years ago when travelling through and had it shipped to Canada. The mechanical man has life like red hair and eye brows and is about 60 cm in sitting height. He is dressed in a kilt, knee high socks, shoes, tam, white shirt and tie, blazer jacket, sash with a furry pouch. There is Old St. Andrews stitching and pin and patches on his clothing. He is holding a snifter in one hand and a golf ball bottle of Old St. Andrews in the other. When plugged in he appears to be pouring the bottle liquid into the snifter and then he raises it to his mouth and tips his head back as if drinking it. It keeps repeating this action. I can't find any information anywhere on him. Anyone ever see one of these guys. Thank you. |

Sounds like it may have been a promotional/display item for St Andrews blended whisky which you can still get today.
Do you have a photo you could post as someone may recognize it. |

Hi,
Thanks for reply. I am trying to get a picture of him to attach to my reply and I am having difficulty doing it. Any help on how you do it would be appreciated. I usually don't have a problem but I do now.
Thanks[/img] |
