I have tried whisky with cheese and for me the cheese dulled down the flavour of the whisky, not a combo i would try again.

I was given some black pudding and Macallan 18 at a tasting one and it went brilliantly together.

I can never resist a piece of dark chocolate with a sherried whisky.

I have had tapas with Bowmore which worked ok, i was more keen on the Bowmore than the Tapas.

It can be very enjoyable pairing whisky with food on an evening out, say at a dinner but sitting at home in the evening having a dram i just like to taste the whisky i paid all the money for, although i have been known to enjoy a piece of Cadburys Bournville with a sherried malt but i wouldnt have it alongside an expensive malt.

I too enjoy a piece of dark chocolate with a sherried malt. Doesn't do the waist line any good though

I've tried some quality dark chocolate about a half hour after some peaty drams and the effect was very pleasant. Hours later I still had a mature sweet smokey taste impression catalyzed by the chocolate.
