Hello Fellow Forum Fellows

I have not noticed this thread before my apologies if I have missed it, but having just prepared and consumed a curry (medium heat) for my family in deepest darkest Somerset, I now fancy a whisky, I would like to know what you would follow a curry with whisky wise, I know your taste will be affected by the curry but any suggestions will be welcomed .

Thanks in advance.

Very Happy

a cheap easy drinking blend with a beer by the side of it for me, I don't think i'd be able to fully apprieciate a good malt and wouldn't risk it

Well, what a coincidence. I had some great curry this afternoon for lunch in Niagara Falls and on the way back I pondered what single malt to have when I got home. I also had spicy beans, broccoli in garlic sauce at the restaurant....all the wrong elements to be followed by the "water of life". I decided to go with Lagavulin 16 neat and you know what, it absolutely works; tastes no different with or without the spicy lunch. Give it a try!

Very Happy Top Malt

Something huge - sherry bomb (aberlour cask strength) or islay monster

What can I say, I agree with all your replies, I had a Bells to clean the palate, then a JW Black Label, (also served at my local curry house for there favoured customers) followed by an Aberlour a'bunadh (Batch 36) and yes a Lagavulin 16 to finish, well several to be honest.

Thank you all. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I'd say a big peat monster or a sherry bomb, has to be something bold.
