| It is rare to see a single cask Balblair. The whisky funds have been spent elsewhere this month or i may have thought about it. |

|
|
The following came through today. It's priced at £90 and is cask strength at 54% Vol (I think). Balblair has been doing really well of late winning Scottish Field awards amongst others. Often overlooked and a great value dram, this could be worthwhile investment with only 150 bottles avalable and in the UK only.

It's here. Purchase your Gathering Place special release.
I'm delighted to announce that the first of our special bottlings of Balblair is now available: Cask 1463 from 1990.
This limited edition is genuinely exclusive to The Gathering Place members. We have only 150 bottles available, and you probably won't be surprised to learn it's restricted to one bottle per member.
What makes Cask 1463 unique is the remarkable influence of a single American oak cask, previously used to mature an Islay whisky. This is a Balblair with a twist.
Obviously such a whisky won't be around forever, it's only available in the UK at this time, and only from us on a first-come, first-served basis. To secure your bottle visit our online shop.
We're confident you'll find it makes a big impression. And once you've savoured it, why not share your tasting notes in your Vintage Cabinet at The Gathering Place?
Don't miss out. Purchase your bottle today.
Yours sincerely

I merged the 2 posts.
Balblair does do some good stuff. Islay casks dont tend to add more than a touch of smoke to a whisky but it certainly makes it more interesting. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

On a side point I have tried the 2001 and 1975 earlier this year both a very high standard. Also who ever Inverhouse have got doing special releases is making a bit of a hash of it. _________________ Putting the func in dysfunctional. |

| This has received very good reviews and with the consistantly high standard of Balblair releases in recent years, this is a definate purchase for me. Ex-Ardbeg cask |

| I didn't realise this was an ex Ardbeg cask, though I note this tends not to add much smoke to the equasion, it would still be interesting to see if you could pick anything up from it at all |

| Same happened to me. Poor packaging. Contacted Balblair. Their marketing lady couldn't be more apologetic and new box is on it's way. Aparently an issue with the company contracted to mail these items out. |

Shouldn't be the fault of Parcelforce,if they were the delivery company. Would more likely have been the actual packaging not up to it. |

| Sorry didn't make myself clear it's the company they employ to wrap the parcels who have let them down, rather than the actual company carrying them. Therefore your comments are spot on!! |
