This year they will be sampling:

As well as tasting whisky they will be sampling a variety of German sausages and local dishes and they will be tasting some German beer which has spent some time in Laphroaig whisky casks. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

| Cheers for the link William, i had forgot all about it until i saw your post. I wouldnt mind trying some of the Laphroaig beer and it sounds like they are planning some wine cask matured Laphroaig for there 200th anniversary year. |

Interesting to hear that the Laphroaig Quarter Cask was only released in 2004 and it is now the No.4 best selling Islay malt today and with good reason IMO.
I wish other distilleries such as Lagavulin would do a young higher strength no age statement whisky at a decent price like the Laphroaig QC |

All the same it would be great to see a young NAS Lagavulin. The Lagavulin 12 special release is great but limited availablity, a great dram but price is high and still creeping up.
As this is a Laphroaig thread, i would say personally i would love to see an affordable Laphroaig with a decent sherry finish in the core range as Laphroaig does turn out well in a sherry cask IMO and an affordable bottle added to there core range could only be a winner IMO, just look at the popularity of the other big peaty sherried whiskies like Ardbeg Uigeadail and Lagavulin Distillers Edition, an affordable sherry finish Laphroaig could blow these 2 away. |
