I think I found a bit of a gem today while on one of my shopping trips:

The Arran Malt Sleeping Warrior Single Scotch Malt Whisky (an interesting way of stating single malt scotch whisky), one of only 6,000 bottles distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2011 at 54.9%abv. It's in a lovely box. One review I found on the internet stated: "Find one if you can".

Has anyone tried it? I finally decided that at least 30-40% of my "collection" should be "viewed" not imbibed so I would like to put this one in the "do not drink" pile.

Laughing

I got a bottle when it was released and drunk it soon after. There are still a few bottles around for sale over here but not many. It was released summer 2011, some info here:

From what i remember it was a nice sherried, fruity spicy Arran and bottled at a decent strength.

What did you think of the dram when you poured it? How would you rate it personally?

I had a bottle of the Arran Sleeping Warrior also, it is long gone now. A quick look at my notes tells me it was a very easy to drink and very enjoyable expression of Arran. Rich and smooth, fruity (sultanas, citrusy) bit of spiciness. I marked it 88/100

Here is a picture i found that shows what the locals of Arran refer to as the sleeping warrior.
