Is anyone familiar with MONTGOMERIE'S GLEN GRANT THE SINGLE CASK SELECTION RARE SELECT SPEYSIDE SINGLE MALT 1990? It is selling at the LCBO in Ontario Canada here for basically the same price as Highland Park 18. Is it worth the price, $135.00 Canadian dollars equivalent to 86 British pounds stirling? _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

| Montgomerie's & Co. Ltd belongs to Angus Dundee Distillers (Tomintoul and Glencadam distilleries) but i havent had any of Montgomerie's bottlings. I think it will be all single cask bottlings like Mackillop's Choice which Angus Dundee Distillers also owns. I have tried a couple of bottlings of Mackillop's Choice which were pretty good, not sure if that is any indication of what the Montgomerie bottlings will be like. |

I wasnt familiar with Montgomerie's whisky and had to look it up
| Quote: | Montgomerie's & Co. Ltd. re-launched and upgraded its "Montgomerie's"? Single Cask Collection in 2007.
The range is based around carefully selected single cask malt whiskies from the five main whisky producing areas of Scotland: Highlands, Speyside, Lowland, Islay and Islands.
Using strong colours on the bottle labels to differentiate the regions, the range powerfully conveys the Montgomerie's branding.
The re-launch of the "Montgomerie's"? was aimed at capturing today's drinkers who are increasingly aware of regional variations and are keen to taste the different flavours of malt Scotch whisky produced in each region.
The "Montgomerie's"? Single Cask Bottling reflects the skill of only bottling a single cask that has matured very well. The secret of bottling excellent quality whiskies lies in the cask selection process. Each cask is especially chosen to be a first-class representative of its region.
The first "Montgomerie's"? Single Cask Collection re-launch bottling has drawn from nine casks offering a choice of three Speyside, two Highlands, two Islay, one Lowland and one Island malt whiskies.
All bottlings are colouring free, without chill filtration at 46% vol.

Oddly the Angus Dundee Distillers website does not mention Montgomerie's whisky or Mackillop's Choice and the Mackillop's Choice website appears to be gone so perhaps Angus Dundee Distillers has ceased production of these brands. |
