Hi all,
I'm new to the forum and have recently started collecting/drinking blended and single malt scotch/whisky's. I was unsure of which subsection to post in but seeing as I have mostly blended whisky I though I'd post here.
At the moment I have a couple JW's in the collection but am wanting to expand. When I say collecting, I mean buying a few and keeping for a tad and then drinking haha Top of the collection at the moment is:
JW Platinum
Glennfiddich 18YO
Also have a few JW Double Black/Black, Shivers Regal 12, and Red (Mainly for mixing).
Based on my current selection I'm looking for a bottle for ~$100, but something different that I wouldn't mostly find in AUS. I've been looking on The Whisky Exchange but there are too many to choose from.
Any suggestions?
Regards
Jaymz |

Welcome to the SMW forum Jaymz
If my calculations are correct $100 Aus equates to £66
I am not sure what is available in Aus but a couple of decent blends i can recommend are Antiquary 21 year in fact the the Antiquary 12 is also very good if you havent tried it. Have you tried the Bailie Nicol Jarvie "BNJ" another excellent blend. The Compass Box Double Single 10th Anniversary blend is outstanding but i think that is a it over your budget.
For the amount you are looking to spend there is a big selection of quality single malts available such as Highland Park 18, i am sure others here will suggest a few more. |

How about the Arran 1999 The Golden Eagle this is the fourth and final bottling in the Icons of Arran series, i doubt it was available in Aus and a very nice dram. £40.95 over at The Whisky Exchange so well within your budget
Or Royal Brackla 12 Year Old Queen's Diamond Jubilee Douglas Laing Old Malt Cask bottling, limited to 250 bottles and priced at £48.95, I wouldnt think you could get this in Aus |

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Adding them all to the list I haven't heard or seen any of them in the local shops which I like. As I mentioned I was looking for something different
More suggestions welcome, blends or single. |

Managed to find a BNJ at the local bottle shop. Very nice indeed going to be drinking that nightly.
Found Compass box on the whiskey exchange and am deciding whether to purchase haha. It will happen eventually.
Going to track down the others mentioned soon. |
