Rumours going about that this year's official Port Ellen will be £600 RRP Shocked . Not much left in it for the speculators at that price or is there?

Are stocks running low or are they just chancing it to see if it will sell?

Is this going to mean big price increases for all Port Ellen's?

At that price, I could get 2 bottles of Bowmore 25 yrs, 1 bottle of Lagavulin 16 yrs and still have money left over for lunch at a ritzy winery by Lake Ontario, here in Canada. I would think that the rarer Port Ellen's will really escalate in price and pull up most other ones as well.

My guess is Diageo will be chancing it a little, stocks will be low but they will never let on how low. I once asked Fred Laing from Douglas Laing about the remaining stocks levels of Port Ellen that DL has but he wouldnt say.

At £600 i wouldnt think there will be much profit for speculators, at least not in the near future but in recent years official Port Ellen releases have usually been prebooked before its release so i would think there are enough buyers out there willing to pay £600

I was willing to pay a little more for the next release, but 600 pounds is way too much.
It is perhaps worth it if they release around 500 bottles, but otherwise I will spend my money on something else.
