I'ev posted this in the Events section also, but being as there is more traffic here. . .
The tickets have arrived! Or so I'm reliably informed by my friend who very kindly phoned up for them.
Anyway, with this now being but a small number of days away (I'm going on the Saturday), does anybody know the following. . .
1) What is the format of the day? Are there just lots of stalls, each having a number of whiskies available to try?
2) What sort of whisky is available, as in standard supermarket fayer, or more unusual stuff?
3) Can you buy bottles from the event it's self? Are they discoutned on the day?
4) Does anyone know where I can get a list of the distilleries / stalls that will be at the event? And also what offerings they will have?
I'm like a child at Christmas!! |

Unfortunatly Royal Mile Whiskies do not have a list of exibitors on there web site, not sure why they dont as it would be good to plan your day in advance.
There will be a lot of exibitors in Edinburgh as it ia a popular event. Each whisky brand will have there own stall with a selection of there core range, most whisky brands offer whisky up to 18/21 year old at the stall but some have up to 30 or even 40 year old available sometimes, Glenfarclas usually have all there core range available to taste.
You cannot buy whisky at the event but all the whiskies available to taste at the event will be available from the Royal Mile Whiskies shop which is a short walk away and you will get a discount voucher which you can use at the RMW shop.
My tip would be - visit the independent whisky bottlers stalls such as Douglas Laing, Gordon & Macphail and Duncan Taylor as you can often find some excellent whiskies here.
Enjoy you day.
Cheers

| I have had a bottle of the Tomatin 30, it is actually not a bad price compared to many other 30 year old distillery bottlings and it is a great whisky. |

I wondered if anyone had tried the Aberlour A'Bunadh Batch 41 at the Whisky Fringe as I saw it but didn't find the time. After the review below I was curious what the consensus was on the sulphur issue?
