|
|
I just returned from my day trip to Toronto to taste some very fine single malt scotches.
I asked for opinions here earlier in the week about which drams I should select before I went and got some real good advice. Here is what I ended up trying this afternoon:
Bunnahabhain 1984 Signatory 43%
Ardbeg 27 yrs. 1972 CS Laing, 50%ABV, single cask 1 of 238 bottles.
Ardbeg 32 yrs. 1967 CS Laing, 49%ABV, single cask 1 0f 309 bottles.
The star today was the Ardbeg 27 yrs., an old sophisticated and complex Ardbeg, too good to add water to. The sweet varnish background of the 32 yr. old was hypnotizing and hit the right mark.
My next visit there I would like to try some of their older Port Ellens.

With tax about $37.00 ounce Canadian each. They will only get more expensive over time and I wanted the opportunity oi try them now. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

I would recommend trying the Port Ellen if you get the chance as prices of Port Ellen are going to keep going up and up. |
