Hi all
I have an unopened 70cl bottle of House of Commons whisky that I wish to sell, it is/was signed by Margaret Thatcher in 1989 and given to me on my 30th birthday. It is in excellent condition having been stored out of sun/daylight for 20+ yrs.
Some specialist whisky shops buy as well as sell rare and collectable whisky, it costs nothing to contact them to see what they may offer you. You could try The Whisky Exchange or Whisky Online
There are a few specialist whisky auctions you could try, if you contact them and give them the full details of your bottle including images they should be able to give you an estimate. The auctions are Bonhams in Edinburgh and McTears in Glasgow and there is a new online auction which is based in Glasgow www.scotchwhiskyauctions.com
There is always ebay which can sometimes be most profitable, just be sure to set a reserve price you are willing to accept. Remember to consider the different costs/commissions each auction charges to sell your whisky as it does vary and it is worth considering when deciding where to sell.
