Hi, was at the Macallan vistor centre last friday, managed to get the following info about a Queen's Jubilee bottle.

2012 bottles will be available for sale, £200+, should be released in the next 3/4 weeks.

I expect it will only be available at the distillery and should sell out quickly.

also
Macallan are also moving the fine and rare department down to Glasgow, Nina is moving on to Inverness airport duty free shop.

Cheers
$

Sherry cask and at 52% Vol..

Looks very nice but expensive.
I wonder how fast it will sell out?

I have ordered one. Very Happy

Should sell out, even at £350 a bottle.

No mention of the age of the whisky though

"The liquid has been specially chosen for the months it was drawn from the casks, 6th February, the Queen' accession, and the first week in June, traditionally when the Jubilees are celebrated. Bottled at 52%, in line with the year of the Queen's accession, the exceptional sherry cask matured single malt gives hints of citrus fruits, ginger and clove."

This bottling will be despatched by 10th August 2012. We will inform you of exact delivery date and any potential delays.

Limited to 1 bottle per customer

I am sure it will sell out quickly but maybe not such a large and quick profit with this one unless it is a very limited release, It also doesnt say how limited the release is, unless i am missing something.

I was told 2012 bottles by 2x members of staff at Macallan 3 weeks ago, although this is not stated on the website.

If your not opening this release I don't think this a quick profit bottle, due to the release price of £350.
However last years wedding bottle sold for £150 on release but now sells for around £400-500.

I have ordered 2, I intend on keeping mine for at least 5 years+ then cracking one open and selling the other.

It's still for sale.........................so it's not flying off the shelves.

Wouldn't it have been better if it had been bottled at 60%Vol to mirror 60 yrs on the throne, rather than at 52% because the coronation was in 1952. Surely Macallan must have some decent barrels at this higher vol or is it just a way of eeking out the supplies that little bit further?

Am I right. Is there some kind of raised 3D design around the Machin head on the bottle?
