Are there any craftsmen or women amongst the SMW forum members, if so there is only one week left until close of entries for The Balvenie Masters Of Craft Awards. So if you are a craftsman or know one you should submit your entry now.

There is more info and a video here about the awards:
www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk/balveniemastersofcraft.htm

The awards are designed to celebrate the varied range of handcrafted skills that are currently thriving across Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

There are seven individual craft categories and they will award a "Best in Category' for each. From these entries, they will appoint an overall Master of Craft award.

They are also looking to champion young talent and dedication to a chosen field and as such, have created an eighth category specifically for craftspeople between the ages of 21 and 30 years old to enter, whatever their field of expertise and a ninth category specifically for craftspeople who have a proven longevity and expertise in their craft.

The award categories are:
    Category 1: Stone
    Category 2: Wood
    Category 3: Metal
    Category 4: Glass and Ceramics
    Category 5: Textiles
    Category 6: Leather
    Category 7: Food
Category 8: Young Master of Craft (open to craftspeople between the ages of 21 and 30 years old)
Category 9: The David Stewart Life Time Achievement Award (open to craftspeople that have a proven longevity and expertise in their craft.)
Category 10: The Balvenie Master Of Craft 2012
