|

Well, today (May 11th) I am one more year older and as I was leisurely getting up here in Canada I was wondering what would be the perfect dram to have tonight to celebrate the occasion? Also, which distillery region would best accent the day for me: Islay, Speyside, etc? What do you suggest? _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Happy Birthday Quaich1. I would say just select something from the whisky you have that you know you particularly enjoy. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

| Happy birthday, i dont why but i always associate an older sherried malt with birthdays or celebrations perhaps its the christmas cake tasting notes often used to describe some sherried malt whiskies. |

Happy Birthday to you have a great day, I would start with a nice light/soft blend to warm up the taste buds, then a strong sherry whisky Aberlour a'bunadh or Glenlivet Nadura or Glenfarclas 105 to get the party going, if last thing you are still standing after your celebrations finish with a big smoky relaxing Islay before retiring for the evening.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes and suggestions for celebratory drams. I settled with choosing Highland Park 18 years, Aberlour 16 years and Lagavulin 16 years. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."
