I am going to try 3 new (for me) single malt scotches in a few weeks at a tasting. They are:
CRAIGELLACHIE 8 YO 46% Non-Chilled Filtered
MACALLAN 14 YO 46% Non-Chilled Filtered
ABERLOUR 17 YO 46% Non-Chilled Filtered
Anybody try these yet? ALso, what drams are you having for the very first time and your thoughts about them.

Are these independent bottlings, if so who is the bottler?
Recently got a bottle of Macallan 13 year old 58% Douglas Laing Old Malt Cask bottling, i will be openong it this weekend when i have time to enjoy a few drams of it |

These are independent bottlings I believe though I won't know which ones till the actual night of the tasting presentation. So far I only have the descriptions I mentioned earlier. |

Sounds like it will be a good night.
Recently i have opened a bottle of Benromach 30 year old as a gift and it is excellent, spicy, vanilla, honeyed, fruity, nutty, sweet, very easy to drink at not at all woody after its 30 years in the barrel. Going to pour one now as typing about it has put me in the mood for one. |

| I had the new travel retail Auchentoshan Heartwood this week for the first time, i was quite impressed, a lovely sherried, fruity Auchentoshan, very enjoyable and very easy to drink. |

Last malt I tried for the first time was Tomintoul 16 a week ago - it wasn't spectacular, but it struck me as very pleasant, easy to drink and really one to keep for regular use! Other than that, last month I opened my Aberlour a'bunadh for the first time, which really impressed me - along with the Glendronach 15, it was the best sherried whisky I have tried so far.
Another new for me that impressed me was Glen Garioch 12, which I thought was superb - a combination of flavours unlike any other whisky I've tried. |

I tried Bruichladdich's The Laddie Ten for the first time a few nights ago.
It was the first time I was actually looking forward to receiving a bottle in the post and the tasting lived up to everything I had hope.
I had watched a couple of reviews on Youtube and read a bit about it.
Can honestly say, it lives up to the hype.
Well worth it. |

Sounds great. I just got a bottle of Bruichladdich Laddie Classic Edition_01 which I'm saving for a bit. Something to look forward to.... |
