I found a 70cl whisky Labelled 'Kent' at the local shop.
It was rather cheap, taste is decent but you can tell it hasn't aged well. Still I'd like some information about it. Says it was produced in Edinburgh by WM Maxwell.
Anyone ever heard of it? It's the same importer that imports King Robert II if it's any use. |

I havent come across the Kent blend but i am familiar with the name William Maxwell, here is some info which was posted on another thread about William Maxwell
| McKay wrote: | William Maxwell is a Scotch blended whisky named after a subsidiary of Peter J Russell & Co. Peter J Russell & Co was established in 1936 by Leonard Russell who was orignally a whisky broker but recognised that he would be better off if he produced and sold blended whisky himself.
Russells business grew with the help of the takeover of William Maxwell, a Liverpool trading firm founded in 1796. Under William Maxwells name several more familiar bottles continue to be bottled to this day, such as: William Maxwell, King Robert II, Hedges & Butler, Cockburn & Murray. Familiar whisky names with single malt whisky drinkers such as Ian Macleod and Chieftans Choice also belong to the Peter J Russell & Co. portfolio.
Lidl were selling a bottle of William Maxwell 28 year old Highland single malt at christmas time fo £35 if i remember correctly. |

| Thanks. I contacted Ian McLeod and apparently Kent is one of their brands available only in Israel. How this bottle made it's way to Brisbane is beyond me. Anyway, thanks for the info. |
