Hi to all
Having recently begun my journey on the roads of single malt and blended scotch I have a question, for which I assume I know the answer ,but I'd be curious as to some feed back.
I'm a smoker of some 15years and I'd readily assume that this does affect my palate..but to what degree ? Are there any ex smokers who feel they've a better appreciation? Any current smokers who feel it has a limited effect?
I'd be interested in any opinions on the subject
Thanx and thank to all who have posted ..a great forum.
When i did smoke i never really considered that it spoiled my enjoyment of whisky but having been a non smoker for a few years now i can say i do certainly get more out of whisky.
Having said that i do miss having a cigar along with a sherried malt.
I would definitely say when i gave up smoking it enhanced my enjoyment of all food and drink including whisky. But as Blackadder said, i didnt really consider that it spoiled anything at the time. I just regret not giving up the cigarettes sooner as it was much easier than i thought it would be using the patches and other aids they have now.
