Kilchoman has announced the release of Kilchoman Machir Bay, the first general release from the distillery. It will be available throughout 2012 and is a vatting of 3, 4 and 5 year old whisky which has been matured in fresh bourbon barrels and finished in oloroso sherry butts for 8 weeks. Bottled at 46% ABV and priced around £38.50

I wonder if we will be able to tell by the label which year the Kilchoman Machir Bay is from or maybe it will have a batch number |

Asked Kilchoman this question and here is what they said
"Yes, there is 2012 written on the front label and box.... Which will become 2013 for next years release." |

With a year on the bottle and box it will also keep the collectors happy and act as a count down until the stock gets to Kilchomans target age whatever that may be. |

| I think it would be similar idea to the aberlour a bunadh with the different batches, and would let you taste the malt as it gets older and matures! |
