Hello,
I have a bottle of Langs Old Scotch Whisky, it has a volume of 4,54 litres and a Britisch customs certificate of origin no. 4, rotation no. 73/202, dated 18/7/73. It is blended and bottled by Lang Brothers Ltd. Distillers are Glengoyne Scotland. It was exclusively imported by Cusenier S.A (Brussels). I would greatly appreciate any information regarding history & valuation.
I wouldnt like to misguide you as far as value goes but i can give you a bit of history about Langs whisky.
The whisky is named after the Langs brothers Alexander and Gavin Lang who founded there business in 1861. In 1876 they bought the Glengoyne distillery and to this day Glengoyne is at the heart of Langs blend. Both the Langs blend and the Glengoyne distillery are now owned by Ian Macleod Distillers who bought them in April 2003 from the Edrington Group who was formerly Highland Distillers Limited ( Edrington Group own brands such as Famous Grouse, Highland Park and the Macallan)
Therefore the Langs blend would have been owned by the Highland Distillers Ltd back in 1973.
