Glenmorangie launch extra matured Nectar D'or 15 year old. Previously aged 12 years, Glenmorangie has extended the maturation period of its popular Nectar D'or single malt whisky by an extra three years.

Glenmorangie Nectar D'or 15 year old is bottled at 46% ABV non chill filtered which adds extra body taste and texture. You should find the new Nectar D'or 15 available from Waitrose and Sainsbury's priced around £38.99.

Idea i wonder if this was planned or has the stock simply aged while waiting to be bought, either way an increase in age and no increase in price can only be good. I havent had this for a while, it is a excellent dram, i wonder how long it will be before it arrives this side of the water

Supermarkets are a bit weird with their prices, I was looking at Waitrose and, even though the Nectar d'Or is £39, thus significantly cheaper than specialist whisky shops, the Glenmorangie 10 is only £4 cheaper at £35! Not that I'm complaining - they seem to have overpriced a lot of the entry-level stuff but surprisingly some more unusual (by supermarket standards) bottles are cheap, like the Nectar d'Or for example, or Bowmore Darkest.

I suspect sometimes that some of the supermarket prices are artificially over inflated so as they can offer dramatic reductions when they have a sale, not just whisky but everything they sell.

I am still waiting on a BOGOF on whisky Laughing

Well fellas......Im not sure how to tell you all this.

I read this thread, and had a prescription to collect (Im still on the wagon) and I thought may aswell go to Sainsburys and get the tablets and have a look.

Now at the end of the isle, it has 20% off and is marked at £31.99

actually in the isle it is marked down from £38.99 to £25.00!!!!!!!!

So three bottles taken to the checkout and I even cashed in the £17.50 on my "nectar" card Laughing left me with £57.50 to pay!

Cant wait to be able to drink again!! Confused

That's right, when I went to Waitrose for the A'bunadh offer I noticed they had Bowmore Darkest for about £28-29, which was cheaper than entry-level stuff like Glenmorangie 10, Glenlivet 12 etc.

On a related note I see Tesco have offers on the Lasanta and Quinta Ruban, at £24.50 and £27.79 respectively. It's a good time to be buying the Glenmo wood finishes! Also Glenmorangie 10 at £20 and £28 for a litre. A good time to be buying any Glenmorangie then, come to think of it!

I would be almost rude to not take advantage of the Nectar D'or offer. I notice that Sainburys has the Johnnie Walker Double Black Label in stock £37.99 but £30 in there current offers, i wonder is it worth £30 never mind £37.99

wow 3 for 60 thats insane !

might go sainsburies at weekend if offer is still on. Not much of a glenmorangie fan though, Its quality and drinkable but not what I look for !

£20 bottle for something 15 years old, famous distillery and the added luxury of sauternes cask finish is outstanding deal !
