The Rare Malts are remarkable cask-strength single malt whiskies drawn from among the rarest, most precious stocks to survive in Scotland. Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky. A 23 year old Glendullan released as part of Diageo's Rare Malts series, highlighting whiskies from some of their lesser known distilleries. This one is from 1974, a couple of years after they built a second distillery on the site, which eventually went on to replace the original 1897 plant. Lemony, grassy and fruity in quite a simplistic but very charming way. A great malt for those cramming sessions where you want something big, flavorsome and just a bit unusual.
