IMO you would pay at least £500 for this from a whisky specialist shop, perhaps more.
At auction it will depend on the bidders on the day but i dont see why it wouldnt make close to the shop price. |

| Do you have the box and info leaflet that came in the box as that can affect the value. |

| You would probably pay £500 in a whisky shop but I would say it would fetch £200 - £300 in a private sale if you have the box. |

| It may still fetch £200 without a box as these Brora Rare Malts Series bottlings are highly sought after |

| Toshie, i see that the dmc's bottle above was distilled 1975 therefore it would have been amongst the first releases or perhaps the first release of Brora in the Rare Malts Series as it is a 20 year old and the series started in 1995. Would this add much value? Or do all the Broras in the series pretty much fetch around the same price? |

According to buxrud.se the Brora 20 year old 1975 54.9% abv was bottled in 2005.
The Rare Malts Series release policy was at the beginning (1995) two annual releases per year, Spring (marked 1) and Autumn (marked 2). However, some years there seems to have been intermediate releases as well. Buxrud has this bottle listed as a spring release therefore it may well be the first Brora release in the Rare Malt Series.
Here are the Broras i know about which were bottled in 1995:
Brora 1975 20 year old 54.9% 700ml bottled 1995 season 1
Brora 1972 22 year old 58.7% 700ml bottled 1995 season 1
Brora 1972 22 year old 60.02% 700ml bottled 1995 season 1
Brora 1972 22 year old 61.1% 700ml bottled 1995 season 1
Brora 1975 20 year old 59.1% 750ml bottled 1995 season 1
Whether it being a early 1995 bottling adds more value, i dont know, maybe toshie from the Scotch Whisky Auction would know better than me. |
