Hello folks,
As first time user I'm concious of the "what's it worth" question being rather irritating to others but in this case I'm really looking for some info on a bottle of 12 year old Glenturret that came into my posession.
Glenturret (The Famous Grouse) were very polite but were unable to help. All they could tell me was it is pre 1990. I haven't seen a bottle like it before and was wondering about the date.
Basically the "12" is in gold whereas all others seem to be white with a red outline.
Glenturret has already told you it is pre 1990 bottle and in the UK up until 1980 standard size bottles were 26 2/3 flozs, they then changed to 750ml in 1980. So it places the bottle in the 1980s as Carson said. You would maybe expect to pay around £150 for it in a specialist whisky shop and maybe half that amount in a private sale or at auction, just my opinion.

Thanks folks,
My Grandfather closed up his Grocery store in 1986 I think and was wondering if this was a standard bottling for the shelves or one that was produced with a different label for some reason. I have also heard that a modern 12 year old doesn't taste anything like this so maybe one worth opening on a special ocassion.
