Just got the following from Balvenie, thought maybe some of you Balvenie drinkers may be interested.

Quote:
I'm delighted to tell you that the long-awaited BALVENIE VINTAGE CASK 1974 has now been bottled and is available for sale.

The most exclusive vintage we've ever produced - JUST 41 BOTTLES WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE UK from a total of only 186 world-wide - The Balvenie Vintage Cask 1974 can now be found in specialist whisky outlets and our online shop.

Reflecting its rarity, this year's Vintage has an RRP of £400 per bottle and our Malt Master, David Stewart, believes it is a WORLD CLASS DRAM: "A truly exceptional single malt with a RICH AND COMPLEX nose that balances vibrant fruit with fragrant oak notes. It is SILKY SMOOTH on the palate with INTENSE FRUITINESS layered with vanilla and heather honey and has a long and warm finish."?

Created from spirit matured in American oak bourbon barrel No. 17893, The Balvenie Vintage Cask 1974 is bottled at 47.8% a.b.v. The cask was selected by our Malt Master David Stewart and three Balvenie enthusiasts.

I would love to try it. Just wish i could afford to splash out £400 on a single bottle.
