Thats good news, i am sure Ian Macleod Distillers will do good things with Tamdhu like they have done with Glengoyne. I wonder if the maltings was part of the deal as i believe the Tamdhu maltings supplies the Edrington group distilleries with malted barley.

I agree, good news. I am sure we will see some new Tamdhu bottlings in the near future.

I wouldnt mind seeing Ian Macleod take over a few more distilleries as our choice of malts will certainly increase.

So which other distilleries would you like to see get a makeover by someone like Ian Macleod?

No specific distillery but there are a few which it would be good to see more single malt bottlings such as Mortlach, Longmorn, Dailuaine, Benrinnes and Aultmore.

I have heard that Ian Macleod Distillers acquired 2 million litres of maturing stock of Tamdhu which actually cost them more than the the distillery itself although i dont know any figures. They plan to run through and sample the maturing stock and once they have reviewed them we should see a new range of Tamdhu in the future. I think this may be a while off yet as i would guess that it takes a while to sample 2 million litres of stock.
