I received info from Dalwhinnie that it is a cool idea to freeze the beautiful single malt of 15 years old...
Why you have to freeze a whisky? I remember when I taste the Snowgrouse and the man who gave it to me told me: "take the whisky in the your mouth and then wait till it warms up. After that you taste it'.....
I do not understand this. Why you have to freeze it when you have to drink it on a normal temperature... can someone explain it?
first off, DO NOT PUT A BOTTLE OF DALWHINNIE IN THE FREEZER ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
freezing spirits is quite popular for shots/trendy cocktails but all it will do to your malt whisky is remove the flavour! most spirits have a lot less flavour to start with so freezing it changes it in a positive way.
snowgrouse is recommended from the freezer - it is a young grain whisky not a matured malt whisky _________________ In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king
Philip i think Diageos marketing department are probably behind this, i think a few years ago they suggested freezing Johnnie Walker whisky. IMO freezing a single malt will do nothing but dull the flavour but this may be there point so as to make it more palatable and easier to drink for blend drinkers or casual malt whisky drinkers
