Was looking for info on the number of bottlefor committeed and likley numbers once on general release...
found this article
http://www.thedrinksbusiness.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12811&Itemid=66
"Ardbeg Alligator is released "for discussion' to the Committee in June with the market release being rolled out to Ardbeg customers in the UK, US, European and selected Asia markets in September.
"The Committee bottling is just a few thousand bottles to get the discussion going..."
"Roughly 40,000 bottles will go one sale upon general release." |

I'm form Italy, and Ardbeg not ship here. I can try with another address, but not ship in Switzerland too.
Why this?
Others distillery ship worldwide, why Ardbeg not? |

I am currently trying to buy a bottle, but their website is soooooooo slow, and keeps failing to process my order thanks to it messing up my billing address.
Very frustrating......
Edit - hurrah, after much faffing about, finally have my bottle ordered. Should be waiting at work for me on Monday, which will help to ease the blow of going back to work after nearly 3 weeks off on holiday! _________________ Rob Hughes

I have been having problems all day with the site. For some reason i had more success accessing the site using Opera instead of Internet Explorer, so if you are having a problem it may be worth trying Opera.
Have i got this right, you can only get a taste of the Ardbeg Alligator at any of the Ardbeg Embassies but they are not selling it. |

| I have hung back and let the rush go before me today, looks like the site is accessible now. I have been told that the Alligator is very good indeed and you wont be disappointed if you are an Ardbeg fan. |

Mine was processing, but I got the confirmation email from the distillery a short while later. Looking forward to this, as it sounds delicious, and it's always nice to try something new. _________________ Rob Hughes

Others distillery ship worldwide, why Ardbeg not? | Andrea this is because of a EU Tax Law which says that "VAT & Duty must be paid in the country of destination". VAT and Duty must be paid to the country of destination by the seller and before he ships the whisky. This creates a lot of paper work for the seller who must have tax numbers / accounts in every country in the EU that he sells to. So much for open borders.
I believe some countries have made reciprocal agreements between tax authorities, basically meaning if you don't charge us then we won't charge you. I believe Germany & Austria and Holland & Belgium have such a deal. |
