Arran Distillery Open Day 2011

Following the success of Arrans first open day last year Arran Distillery has announced the date for its 2011 open day. The Annual Distillery Open Day in Lochranza has been confirmed as Sunday 29th May, and will be held as usual in the grounds of the distillery, followed by an evening ceilidh.

Final details are still being worked out, however Arran wanted to give you all plenty of notice so that you can go ahead and arrange your travel plans! The Open Day is on the Sunday at the end of The Islay Music Festival (Feis Ile) which will be held from 21st - 28th May, so if you're planning on making a trip over to Islay for the annual get together, why not make the short hop over to Arran at the end.

I see they have sceduled the Arran open day to catch the traffic coming back from Islays Feis Ile 2011 rather than having a July open day which i was intending to nip across the water and go to for a day out in the summer. I can see the sense in moving it though to 29th May.

All Arran Friends get your diaries out! The Annual Distillery Open Day in Lochranza has been confirmed as Sunday 29th May, and will be held as usual in the grounds of the distillery, followed by an evening ceilidh.
The Open Day is on the Sunday at the end of The Islay Music Festival (Feis Ile) which will be held from 21st - 28th May,

12.30-1.30pm - Introductory Whisky Tasting. This tasting is being taken by Jaclyn McKie and will feature 5 Single Malts. It will take place in the Crofter's Cottage and there are 25 places. Tickets are £15 each.

1.30 - 2.30pm - Cask Samples in the Bonded Warehouse. This tasting is being taken by Euan Mitchell and will take place in Bonded Warehouse No1. Places are very limited due to the exclusivity of the samples, only 10 places available. Tickets are £40 each.

2pm - 3.30pm - Food and Whisky Pairing. This tasting is being taken by Andrew Hogan and will feature our Single Malt Whiskies paired with the best of Arran produce. It will be held in the Crofter's Cottage and 20 places are available. Tickets are £25.

The programme for the day has also been confirmed as follows:

All Day Activities: Farmers markets, Island Stalls, Delicious Food Stalls, Mini Guided Tours including viewing inside the Bonded Warehouses, Whisky Tastings, Beer Tent, Wood carvings by Paul Hodgkiss, Arran Adventures, Cooper Demonstration, Face Painting, Soft Play Area.

13.30 - Story Telling with Diane Riddell

Evening ceilidh is due to start at 8pm and tickets are very limited for this so you need to get your skates on to make sure that you can make a day AND evening of it!!
