Glen Deveron and Glenburn? I saw them today at my corner shop of all places and I haven't heard of them before. I believe it was the Glen Deveron 10 year-old and Glenburn 12 year-old they had. Anyone tried them? What are they like?

Glen Deveron is what the whisky produced at the Macduff distillery is known as, it is in Speyside the Glen Deveron 10 is pretty good. £28 over at ~TWE
AFAIK Glenburn is a independent bottling of no known origin. The 2011 Whisky Bible lists a Glen Burn Single Highlad malt from Glen Burn distillers in the unspecified single malts section and rates it at 81/100 and refers to it aspleasant, simplistic pub fodder. |

Glen Deveron is not well known but i think the 10 year old is starting to get noticed more by whisky drinkers keen to try different distilleries. It is a a decent enough Speyside whisky.

I just done a search for Glenburn, there doesnt seem to be much info on it at all. Personally i have never heard of a Glenburn distillery so i would guess it is a independent bottling.

Thanks for the info guys. I think I'll give them a miss - I was just wondering in case they were hidden gems I had never heard of but it seems I can get better whiskies for the money. Still, how weird that they'd be found in a small corner shop next to stuff like Grant's and Jack Daniel's?!
