Can anyone please tell me what year the contents of a bottle was changed from FLozs to Volum. cheers Dave

Up until January 1st 1980 the UK used "proof" strength of spirits to show the strength of alcohol. They changed it to what we use today Percentage of Alcohol by Volume %ABV.

Also in the UK up until 1980 standard size bottles were measured in flozs, they then changed to ml in 1980. Therefore a 26 2/3 flozs bottle size changed to 750ml in 1980.
The standard UK & EU bottle size then changed to 700ml but i cant remember the date it changed.
