Allan welcome to the SMW forum.
Have you tried contacting your current home insurer to see what they say. |

Mine WAS covered by my house insurance!
But i am affraid i think the value of it has shot up past the limits on it!
So think i will also be contacting a few companies about taking out a policy just for all of my bottles!
So if any one has any ideas on the best companies to contact i am sure late starter and my self would appreciate it!
I am also considering getting mine valued for insurace purposes, and ideas who can do this? maybe mctears?

| I think individual insurance companies approach this differently. I have heard of some willing to insure it as a collection, some want every bottle individually named, some try to treat it like a wine collection, some may ask for independent valuation. Some just wont even consider insuring a consumable item. Best thing i can suggest is to call around different insurers to get one that offers what you want. If you need to give a valuation and you can still purchase the whisky you have at online whisky specialist shops then i would quote the shops. |

500 at bottles at £50 average = £25K! and i'm sure this is a very conservative estimate of your collection JAB....
definitely contact a company and try and get a special policy, who knows what your collection will be worth in years to come..especially the rate you keep adding to it! |
