Hi folks. I'm delighted to announce that Scotch Whisky Auctions will be holding its inaugural auction beginning Saturday, April 2, and running for four weeks. This is a new company, but the people behind it have been floating around whisky for a long time.
I'm Bill Mackintosh, chairman of Glasgow's Whisky Club and a director of Glasgow's Whisky Festival, which some of you might have attended last November. It was a sell-out success, and this year's is heading the same way.
My business partner is Tam Gardiner, who runs Tam's Drams, a specialist whisky shop in Glasgow. He has long experience in collecting old and rare whiskies.
We plan to offer a safe, secure and enjoyable experience for a price well below the current auction houses McTear's and Bonhams. The first couple of auctions will charge sellers 10% of the hammer price, plus £2 per item offered.
There will be no buyer's premium. Successful purchasers (UK only) will be charged postage. Feel free to pop over to http://www.scotchwhiskyauctions.com and have a look. If you have anything you'd like to put in the sale, drop us a line a mail@scotchwhiskyauctions.com
Thanks for your time.

All the best with the venture Bill. There seems to a few interesting lots in the first auction.
I had a look at your delivery page, it says: | Quote: | | Winning lot(s) will be sent to the successful bidder in a secure, insured package. The cost of postage will be added to the hammer price. |
Probably jumping the gun a bit but will there be an option to personally collect your winning lots rather than pay postage? |
