I wonder if anyone would be able to assist me please? My mother has a collection of whisky that once belonged to my father who passed away in 1991. He had owned the bottles for a number of years and she now wishes to sell them as she is moving to a smaller property and has nowhere to store them.

Would it be possible to have an idea of the value of these bottles and also where we could possibly sell them? I attach a list of the whisky bottles (13 in total).

Thanks to anyone who may be able to help!

I list below the items for sale:

Hi

I would suggest looking in the whisky specialist shops such as The Whisky Exchange as they may have similar bottles to yours and this will give you an idea of value but remember that this is the the price they sell for in a shop which includes duty, VAT and the shop mark up as they need to make a profit. In a private sale you may only get half what you see the whisky selling for in a shop, having said that some whisky brands are highly sought after and can fetch close to the shop price in a private sale.

As far as where you can sell them, here are a few options:

You could try ebay which can sometimes fetch most money.

There are a couple of auctions which specialise in whisky, these are:
www.mctears.co.uk/departments/whisky.aspx
www.bonhams.com/eur/whisky/

Another option is you could try contacting The Whisky Exchange via there website as they buy as well as sell rare and collectable whisky.[/list]
