I have acquired a bit of a taste recently for Port Wood finished whisky and i wanted to pick your brains to see what Port Wood finished whiskies are available out there and maybe assemble a list here that would be useful to others.
Cheers
James

Probably a bit obvious but 2 excellent expressions of Port finished whisky which i probably drink most out of any Port Finished whisky are:
Balvenie 21 Year Old Port Wood Finish
Glonmorangie Quinta Ruban |

| I too have recently started getting into port-finished whisky. I've only had the Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban so far, but I'm also looking at the Cragganmore Distiller's Edition 1993 - I've heard good things about it, both on this site and other reviews. I really like the core flavours of the Cragganmore 12 so can't wait to see what the port-finished version will taste like. |

Benromach 1999 Origins Batch 2
Tyrconnell 10 Port Finish an Irish whiskey produced by Cooley, very good and my choice out of the Tyrconnell range but not cheap for a 10 year old.
Benriach Solstice 15 Peated Port Finish this was only recently released so i havent tried it yet.
These few Bowmores are getting hard to get now:
Bowmore 1991 16 Year Old
Bowmore Dawn
Bowmore Voyage |

| The Bowmore Dawn was excellent i dont know why Bowmore didnt do more of it, i think it was around 2007/2008 they stopped it. Just saw it in TWE for just short of £100 wish i had tucked away a few cases. |

wasnt the Bowmore Voyage the forerunner to the Bowmore Dawn.
I agree i liked these Bowmores done in port wood, i dont think Bowmore has any current port wood bottlings, do they |

Forgot about that one, isnt it exclusive to travel retail. Have you tried it, how does it compare to the Voyage and Dawn. |

| I havent seen any reviews of the Bowmore 21 not even in the Whisky Bible. I always wondered if it was possibly the stock intended to go into Bowmore Dawn but then they discontinued Bowmore Dawn around 2008 as Mac said then released the 1988 21 in 2009 |

I am guessing there will be a big port influence in the 21 year old. True none of the big reviewers seem to have reviewed the 21. |
