|
|
Hi
I am am looking to buy a special bottle of whisky for my other half as a gift to him on our wedding day (spend approx £100-150) and not sure where to start.
He has mentioned that his favorite whisky is Genmornagie (currently has d'Or) but I have no idea what would make that a good pallatable whisky! He aslo quite likes Glenfiddich and Talisker if that helps you get a feel for the flavours that he likes.
Can anyone recommend a good whisky that you think he would enjoy? I was
wondering about the Glenmorangie Signet as he likes Glenmorangie - is he likely to like most whiskys produced from the same distillery?
Advise and suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi Kelly
The Glenmorangie Signet is delicious and i am sure he would love it, it comes in smart packaging which makes looks great as a gift.
If you think he likes Talisker then there are a few decent Talisker 25 year olds within your price range, have a look at The Whisky Exchange, my choice of Talisker 25 would be the 2007 or 2008 release.
All the best on the big day.

I agree the Glenmorangie Signet is excellent and will make a great gift.
Glenfiddich have a 30 year old which is very good but that is just over £200 |

| Hi Kelly, if you are looking for something different then i would suggest the Glen Ord 25 year old which is on offer at The Whisky Exchange at the moment for £107 which is a superb price for a whisky of this age and quality it is excellent. |

Have you also thought of getting a bottle that was distilled in the year of his birth? Just go to the whiskey exchange and put his birth year into the search field.
Obviously, if he's quite old, then it may be quite pricey, but it's might make for a nice touch.
If that doesn't work, then I would also recommend the Talsiker 25. Delicious! _________________ Rob Hughes

Thank you for all your suggestions.
I think I will go for the Signet or the Glen Ord.
And I am liking the idea of the particular aged whiskey for future anniversary gifts!
Thanks again

Would be good to get 2 bottles that are bottled this year, 1 to drink, and one to keep as a memento of your special year.
or perhaps......do as my wife did, a cheap bottle of Glenfiddich......I drank the whisky as a last hurrah!, and the box is now a convenient place to store all the dreams and aspirations I had for life. |
