Fancy starting your own website? I spotted this on ebay:
| Quote: | ISLAY.COM
This iconic domain name is offered for sale by the German owner, who has withdrawn his interests in the whisky market and wishes to offer the site to a new owner.
Previously run as a whisky site, this has now been closed, and the name is 'clean' and available immediately.
It is expected that Islay.com will be of interest to the island's many distillers, as well as tourist authorities, community groups or even a B&B operator. "As I have no plans to continue in this market,"? explains the owner "it seemed best that the domain should go to a new owner and an internet auction seems the fairest way to find the right buyer."? |

14 bids so far and it is up to £501 and over 8 days to go in the auction. Any predictions on what it may sell for |

| I would think the B&B operators would be out bid if the whisky companies show an interest but probably more suited for a tourist authority type website. Going by the early bidding someone is very keen to have it. |

| I would think it would fetch well over £1000 maybe a lot more. Not sure if the whisky companies would have an interest in it though, then it could have sold for big money. |

It obviously didnt attract the attention of the big whisky companies but it isnt really a whisky domain name although the seller hoped that it would be seen as one i think.
A domain name like this site www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk would probably attract the attention of the big whisky companies if it went up for sale. |

I like my awhiskeydrink.com. My wife came up with it when I was writing bourbon reviews one day and it stuck. I review more scotches though, so maybe it should have been awhiskydrink ;) _________________ Cheers, Swift
