|
|
A bit of a frivolous topic, this, but why not? I'd be interested to see other forumites' views on which single malts have the best bottle and label designs. As I said in the 'overlooked malts' thread, I think Benromach has one of the coolest and most stylish-looking labels I've seen. Other than that, I like the Macallan for its height and elegance, and of course Glenfiddich can't be overlooked as one of the most recognisable brands in the world.
At the other end, even though I love Glenfarclas I have to admit their labels are due for a wee makeover...
What are your choices? |

That's a seriously classy-looking bottle, to be sure!
Which ones would you pick from distilleries' core ranges? |

has to be the Dalmore Trinitas! In terms of 'normal' whiskies you just cant beat holding a bottle of glenfiddich
The whisky in those ones above JAB is amazingly clear |

I have had a few decanter style bottles which i liked, one that sticks in my mind was the Clan Denny Islay from Douglas Laing. It was an excellent blend of 7 Islay malts including Ardbeg, Bowmore, Bruichladdich, Bunnahabhain, and Caol Ila and non-chillfiltered.
sorry the picture doesnt do the bottle justice its all i could find. |

Haha, yes obviously all the core range bottles look the same - I was talking about distilleries in plural. Like as Tom said Glenfiddich have generally done a great job with their designs.
Andy - that Islay blend sounds great! |

Those bottles look very stylish.
I used to like the Glenffidich Caoran reserve bottle that was black, with a silver label.....but its nothing compared to those two.
I did once see a bottle of single malt that came with extras in a shooting case.
I saw the price, and and thought Id have to start smaller to obtain one...........as in smaller barrels to obtain the cash! |

Would it be this Ardbeg you are talking about? The Ardbeg Double Barrel
