|
|
Whisky connoisseurs who attended The Whisky Show in London, have named Glengoyne 40 Year Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky as the Ultra Premium Dram of 2010.
Competing against the Glengoyne 40 year old at The Whisky Show was over 20 luxury whiskies that are currently available in the global marketplace retailing from a minimum of £300, including:
Balvenie 30 year old and Tun 1401
BenRiach 30 year old
Brora 30 year old
Bruichladdich DNA and 1977
Dalmore 40 year old
Glen Grant 1948 (Gordon & MacPhail)
Glen Grant 1954 (Macleods)
GlenDronach Grandeur 31 year old
Glenfarclas 40 year old Millennium Edition
Glenfiddich 40 year old
Glenglassaugh 30 year old
Glenlivet Cellar Collection 1959 & 1964
Glengoyne 40 Year Old
Isle of Skye 50 year old
Johnnie Walker King George V
Old Pulteney 30 year old
Port Ellen 1978 31 year old 10th Release
Whyte & Mackay 40 year old The Glengoyne 40 year old is a complex very well balanced whisky. I had the opportunity to try a number of the other Ultra Premium Drams at the 2010 Whisky Show and I can say this is a well deserved recognition of the quality of the Glengoyne 40 year old which I have now had the pleasure of on a few occasions, a quality dram.
