yes will ask them who their suppliers are and maybe order online, found a few possibilities but the best is more like a jar 40ml for 60p each!

I got some small glass bottles from a chemist once, i would describe them as cough medicine bottles, they do the trick though. I have a sort of mini archive of some of the bottles which i thought were special. It is great to dip into the archive every so often knowing i am going to have something i really like.

Got a few freebies today 9x 100ml bottles a wee bit bigger than am looking for but will do the trick!

I find a 100ml sample bottle is handy to decant any almost finished bottles into so that i then dont need to rush to finish them for fear of the whisky losing some of its character due to oxidisation. So i have unintentionally created myself a bit of an archive

i have my own archive / collection of rare bottles, thus the reason for the sample bottles so if at festivals can maybe add a few more.

Hi,

I am also looking for the best sort of small bottle / jar to keep malt whisky in.
My idea is based around the fact that my Dad and both my brother in laws all enjoy a drop of malt. We all enjoy trying new types, but paying for a full bottle on your own can be an expensive mistake if you don't like it!

So ... my idea is to start a little whisky club, where one of us buys a bottle and share it quarter bottle each. Ideally the container would be 175ml (quarter standard bottle), It should be suitable to store the malt whisky in good condition for at least 6 months.

I've seen some companies selling wedding favour bottles, who do a screw cap and cork top - any ideas which is better? (I think it was minatureglassbottles.co.uk)

Alternatively, I thought perhaps a 200ml glass Orangina bottle (if throughly washed out) might be OK. Does the cap need to be of a special type to retain the alcohol content?

Also, if anyone knows of a place which sells quarter bottles rather than full 70cl bottles of malt that would be great too.

Any ideas would be gratefully received. Smile

hi hollim

If you look over at The Whisky Exchange they have quite a few 20cl bottles of malt. They have some decent sets of 3 x 20cl bottles for a decent price which once you drink the whisky you could reuse the bottles. If you type 20cl into the search box at TWE you will get a list of all they have.

Hi Acker,

That's great information. Thanks.
I'll take a look and probably order one of their triple 20cl packs. I can then give my dad and 2 brother in laws the 20cl bottles to use for their share, and I can keep my quarter in the original bottle.

Very Happy
