Does anyone else know of a whisky bottled as `Old Bannockburn` I think from the Deanston distillery in the early 1970`s.
I`ve never seen one for sale but own 2 bottles, square in shape and 70 degrees proof.
Just looking for history and any possible value.

Arty Deanston was established in 1965 so quite a new distillery as far as Scotch whisky distilleries goes. It was a weavery from 1785 but in 1965 it was transformed into Deanston Distillery by James Finlay & Co. and Brodie Hepburn Ltd - Deanston Distillery Co.
Production began in October 1966. The first single malt was bottled in 1971, it was named Old Bannockburn. I believe Old Bannockburn was bottled until 1972 when Invergordon Distillers took over the distillery. Not sure, it Old Bannockburn may have been bottled up until 1974 when the first single malt bearing the name Deanston was bottled.
Not sure of a value, i wouldnt like to guess and misguide you.
Arty, if you had a photo you could post i would appreciate it as i have never seen a bottle.
