I have a number of different whiskies bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. I would like a valuation if possible. One bottle was distilled Ledaig, Mull July 1974, bottled Feb 90 strength 57.2% by vol. Society cask was number 42.3. I believe the distillery was closed years ago.
Any advice please ? |

| Ledaig malt whisky is produced at the Tobermory distillery on the island of Mull and today it is very much up and running. The original name for the distillery was Ledaig, but the distillery was later renamed Tobermory. Today the distillery produces both the Ledaig and Tobermory whiskies. It did however have a couple of periods in its history when it was closed this was 1928-1972 and 1992-1994. |

As Innes say the distillery is still open and producing whisky today. I think you could get around £60 - £80 for the SMWS Ledaig 42.3, it is only 15 year old and not a highly sought after distillery, just my opinion it may fetch more.
What other SMWS do you have? |

Hi Braden
I have 42.3, 90.1, 68.4, 39.7, 56.2, 63.4, 68.2, 67.2, 5.3, 46.3
I've no idea about what these would sell at. All I can say is that when I bought them I intended to drink them but I'll not be doing that now. |

90.1 Pittyvaich Distillery closed 1993 now demolished
68.4 Blair Athol Distillery Operational although official bottlings are rare
68.2 Blair Athol Distillery Operational although official bottlings are rare
39.7 Linkwood Distillery Operational although official bottlings are rare
56.2 Coleburn Distillery closed 1985
63.4 Glentauchers Distillery Operational although official bottlings are rare, a few independent bottlings around.
67.2 Banff Distillery closed 1983 partly demolished then destroyed in a fire
5.3 Auchentoshan Distillery Operational

| If you were to buy them in a shop you would pay a lot more than what you would get for them selling them privately. What is the ages and ABV of them all as this will effect the price also. |
