Hi can anyone tell me if there are any good whisky courses where you can gain qualifications if you are interested in persuing a job in the whisky industry or even a good course if you are simply a whisky enthusiast.

Thanks

Kava

Not sure if you mean something like this but The Institute & Guild of Brewing www.igb.org.uk has a course.

You can view examples of their examinations here:

The Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh run a day course.

Ther website states that the course is an ideal course for;
- Anyone who sells and serves Scotch Whisky
- Enthusiasts
- The Hospitality Industry

Cant say i know anyone who has done it though, so cant vouch for it, it maybe be a bit touristy or maybe not as educational as what you are looking for.

Moray college run an open learning course which leads to a Moray College/Gordon and MacPhail Certificate. The course costs £120, you can get more info here

Thanks for the replies, i shall have a look at your suggestions. The The Institute & Guild of Brewing looks good but probably looking for something lighter to start off, the Moray college course may be worth a look at.
